It’s been a while since our last blog and a lot has happened since then.
We celebrated the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in June with the team in the office dressing in Red, White and Blue, plenty of Jubilee cupcakes were consumed and we had a rather regal looking Lion – Leopold – in our window.
Those who watched the Platinum Jubilee pageant on the TV would have seen the amazing work by the Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival team with their Jubilee Cart Many congratulations to them for such a remarkable display.
The past few months have been an unprecedented time, with the UK coming second in the Eurovision Song Contest – well done Sam Ryder – and our amazing Lionesses winning the Women’s Euros 2022 beating Germany 2-1!
We’ve welcomed the long-awaited rain after the recent heatwave and hopefully temperatures will be more bearable for everyone now. The heat doesn’t seem to have put off any visitors, as the town has been busy with plenty of holidaymakers; hopefully all buying local – and speaking of that – if you are visiting Bideford, please take a moment to visit our beautiful pannier market and while you are in this area, you could call in to London House Studio & Gallery just opposite the market building. Both well worth a visit and you’d be helping to support our fantastic local independent traders.
With the lovely weather, no doubt owners of holiday homes are finding themselves fully booked, with many people now choosing a staycation over a holiday abroad. For current owners needing some tax tips, or anyone thinking of investing in a property with a view to holiday letting, you can find some helpful guidance here. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if we can help you further.
And finally, if you are a small business and are looking for help with the purchase of software and digital technologies, you may find this article from our latest Newsletter of interest.
Enjoy the rest of the summer!
